I bought a pair of these sandals about a year ago and the strap that goes between your big toe and second toe already broke. So why did I give this a 5-star review?

I wore the Columbia Nassau sandals basically everywhere, all the time. I went to the driving range to hit golf in them, I walked literally miles in them some days, ran in them, walked through deep grass and on other unstable surfaces, and they held up really, really well.

And the best part: I paid $15 shipped for them on Amazon.

So, once the strap broke, I bought some "Croft & Barrow" sandals at the mall. Within a week, the fabric on the interior of the sandal was coming loose and they were falling apart. They cost $22. Another testament to the quality and value of the Nassau sandals. I learned my lesson and bought another pair of the Nassau's here, on Amazon, for $17 shipped.

If you want a great pair of very comfortable sandals that you can wear all the time, everywhere, these are it.

One last comment: they size about right and maybe very, very slightly on the smaller end. I wear a 12 in almost every brand, and a 12 fit me with the Nassau's, but they're a very exact fit, meaning, if they were even a 1/16th of an inch smaller, they would be too small. Just take note.

These are not what you'd call beautiful, but they do the job pretty well. The spikes are not large, more like those on a pair of golf shoes. These are easy to slip over a pair of boots and fit snugly (I'm a size 14 and I bought the "11 and up" size, so they may not be so tight on the lower end of that range). I've walked the same ice with and without and they make a significant difference.

Revision: I have since bought YakTrax (through Amazon) and I have to say that the YakTrax kick these spikes rear end. With the YakTrax, you can walk confidently, with a normal stride, over most ice and not slip. With the Petzls, you can walk, but gingerly, because you need to make sure you've landed on the spikes and dug in. The tendency is to walk a bit more tentatively. Nevertheless, they're a good backup, fit over most shoes, and I keep them in the trunk, for emergencies.

These are not what you’d call beautiful, but they do the job pretty well. The spikes are not large, more like those on a pair of golf shoes. These are easy to slip over a pair of boots and fit snugly (I’m a size 14 and I bought the “11 and up” size, so they may not be so tight on the lower end of that range). I’ve walked the same ice with and without and they make a significant difference.

Revision: I have since bought YakTrax (through Amazon) and I have to say that the YakTrax kick these spikes rear end. With the YakTrax, you can walk confidently, with a normal stride, over most ice and not slip. With the Petzls, you can walk, but gingerly, because you need to make sure you’ve landed on the spikes and dug in. The tendency is to walk a bit more tentatively.

I have fibro and feet that need lots of cushion and yet support. This is my third pair of these sandals. They have an arch support, a slight heal cup and the thong holds my foot nicely in place upon the lightly cushioned food bed. LOVE THEM.
